    Frequently Asked Questions Prior to your stay ​ Can I check in or check out outside of the allocated times? Yes, however only by prior arrangement with the Motel Manager by phone on 0448 789 177 or via email info.portalbertmotel@gmail.com ​ Is free parking available? There is free and ample parking for all guests. ​ Is there room to park my boat? There is ample room to park a boat and boat trailer. We have even had guests land their helicopter & stay the night at our motel. ​ There is no onsite reception, how do I check-in? For all your check-in details, our Motel Manager will be in contact with you prior to your arrival to advise on how to gain entry to your room. ​ Do any of the rooms have a bath? None of the rooms have a bath, however all contain showers. ​ Is there a BBQ area? Yes. A BBQ area and utensils have been provided for your use during your stay. Please note that the BBQ cannot be used on Total Fire Ban days. ​ Does Port Albert Motel allow pets? Usually no, however approval may be allowed in certain circumstances and is strictly only permitted in one particular room. This can only be booked by calling our Motel Manager directly on 0448 789 177 (not available online) and is subject to availability (usually not accepted during holiday periods e.g., Easter and Christmas). Extra cleaning costs may be incurred, and you will be responsible for any damage your pet causes during your stay. ​ ​ ​ During your stay ​ Where do I find specific information about my stay at Port Albert Motel? Every room contains a compendium with all necessary information for your stay. Our website also includes information such as ‘how to find us’ & ‘things to do’ while you are in the Gippsland region. ​ Is there WiFi? Port Albert Motel provides free access to WiFi. All details can be found in your room or by calling the Motel Manager on 0448 789 177. ​ Will my room be cleaned during my stay? We do not clean your room during your stay for privacy and security reasons. However if you would like your room to be made up e.g. beds made, room vacuumed and/or fresh towels this can be arranged by request with our Motel Manager by calling 0448 789 177. ​ Can I cook in the rooms? Port Albert Motel provide a range of appliances including a toaster, sandwich grill, microwave and a limited range of containers and utensils. For safety, preparation of food in guest rooms by any other type of cooking appliance is prohibited, excluding appliances provided by Port Albert Motel. A fee will be charged for damage and/or additional cleaning required due to cooking in the room on appliances not provided by Port Albert Motel. ​ Is there a space for washing dishes? As guests, you are not expected to wash your own dishes. However, if you would like to wash your own dishes, we have provided a dish washing kit. ​ Do you have electric blankets on the beds or as an extra? Due to safety concerns related to electric blankets, we do not provide them. ​ I have lost my room key, what do I do? In the case of a lost key, please call our Motel Manager on 0448 789 177 to arrange a replacement. Lost keys will incur a fee of $20. ​ ​ ​ Payment ​ What are my payment options? Port Albert Motel accepts multiple forms of payment including cash on arrival. Depending on how you book, we accept credit card, debit card and cash on arrival. Yes, this can be done directly through our website or over the phone to our Motel Manager by calling 0448 789 177. ​ I have prepaid & now I need to postpone my stay, can I move my check-in to a later date? Yes you can move your check-in date, however this must be arranged a minimum of 48 hours prior to your original check-in date/time. This is in line with our terms and conditions and cancellation policy. Please note if you have booked through an online booking channel then you will need to liaise directly with them in relation to any modifications to your original booking and is subject to their terms and conditions.

Additional blankets, pillows, crockery etc. are in the cupboards. For guest safety, preparation of food in guest rooms by any type of cooking appliance is prohibited, excluding appliances provided by Port Albert Motel. A minimum fee of $200 may be charged for cooking in room. This includes hot plates, rice cookers, open flames, heating appliances or other similar items intended for cooking. Please do not bring hot pans/pots etc. inside the room, that you have cooked with outside - We have heat damage to our lino floor due to guests putting hot pans on the floor. Mini Bar Alcoholic beverages must not be distributed to minors under 18 years of age. Please notify our Manager if you have used our mini bar service. Payment can be made by credit card over the phone, or credit card/cash in person at check out. If items from the mini bar have been opened/consumed, you will be charged accordingly. Please drink responsibly. BBQ Area A BBQ has been provided for your use during your stay. Please use the baking paper provided on the hot plate to help keep it clean for the next quest. Please place used BBQ utensils in the bags provided (located in plastic tub under BBQ). Do not place hot cooking materials on the ground, the flooring will be damaged by the heat. There are spare power points behind the beds for your usage. These can be used to charge your phones & other electronic devices. Gas Bottles Hot water for your showers comes from bottled gas & can take a little while to warm up. If water does not heat up, please contact our Manager on 0448 789 177 as soon as possible. A breach of any house rule may result in the summary eviction of the offender at the discretion of the Manager. A breach of house rules includes: Noisy, offensive and/or unruly behaviour Damage to, or destruction of property Improper or unseemly conduct Any act or omission which in the opinion of the Manager, adversely affects or brings discredit upon the Manager, Owner or other guests The Bunk Bed Safety Warning must be adhered to at all times. Bunk Bed Safety Warning Falls from elevated beds can be fatal, and deaths have occurred where children have fallen from elevated beds. This is relevant for all ages. The risk is greater for younger children. ​ Guests should not use the top bunk in the following circumstances: For children under the age of 9 years old should not use the top bunk When intoxicated or affected by medication or drugs If persons are bed wetters or have previously fallen from a bed ​ The following must be adhered to at all times: Bunks are not to be used as play equipment, and users should not jump on or from the bunks Bunks are not to be moved under any circumstances, as caution must be exercised in relation to overhead ceiling fans Any defects to beds must be reported to the Manager immediately; and Those guests who have impaired capacity should use caution when using bunk beds Reservation Policy Check-In Time 02:00 pm Check-out Time 10:00 am Upfront payment is required for all bookings. If you would like to request a late check-out at 11am, please contact the Manager on 0448 789 177 and we will try to accommodate you where possible. Cancellation Policy Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to check-in time on the date of arrival, will result in a forfeiture of the fees for first nights' accommodation. Pet Friendly Policy We are pet friendly 'upon request' to 'people friendly' pets outside of the peak holiday periods of Easter and Christmas Holidays. Approval may be allowed in certain circumstances and is strictly only permitted in one particular room as allocated by our Manager and is subject to availability. ​ We have agreed for you to bring your 'people friendly' pet on the basis that you follow these rules: Pets must be in good health and free from fleas and ticks.     Terms and Conditions 1. You [our guest] agree that you will pay us [the Operator] the room rate for each day of your stay and any additional charges until the time you advise that you have departed from our rooms. 2. You agree that payment is required upfront and any further, additional or outstanding payments are due on departure. 3. You agree that checkout time is 10:00am on the date shown for your departure unless we agree to another time. 4. You agree that departure after the checkout time may incur additional room charges. 5. You agree that we may apply a charge if your required check-in time requires us to keep the room empty on the previous day. 6. You agree to pay interim accounts when presented even though you may not have departed from our rooms. 7. You agree to advise us of any change in the number of persons using the room and agree to pay any additional charges for additional persons not included in the number stated at the time of registration. 8. You agree you are and remain personally liable to pay the total amount due unless prior settlement arrangements have been accepted by us. If the settlement arrangements have not been met you agree to pay the total amount due on receipt of our invoice. 9. You agree to pay us for any additional costs resulting from your use of the room or property including but not limited to costs relating to excessive cleaning requirements, damage to the room or loss or damage to equipment, furniture or other items belonging to the motel, operator or other guests. 10. You agree that in any case where you or any guest or family member brought onto the property by yourself cause unreasonable annoyance to another guest at the property and/or unreasonable disruption to the privacy of another guest at the property, we have the right to evict you and any member of your associated party. 15.
